Bitstamp Login Securely Access Your Trading Account

Step One: Log in to your Bitstamp account at https://www.bitstamp.net/

Step Two: After signing in, select your profile icon in the top right corner, then select Settings from the dropdown.Step Three: Select the “API Access” on the left selection bar, then select "Create new API Key" from the screen.Step Four: Set the permissions for your API KeyYou want to ensure that all of the Reading functions are enabled, and all functions relating to trading, transfers, and withdrawals are disabled. For Bitstamp, this is NOT the case by default and you need to select "Read main account balances and transactions" from this list. It is important to double-check at this stage as the Hash Data tool will deny the API key if any trading functions are enabled.Once your permissions are set, hit the "Create new API Key" button again and enter your 2FA code as prompted Bitstamp Login.Step Five: Record your generated keys.Under the "Permissions" heading, verify that the permissions associated with the API key allow viewing access to the account, and no Write functionality had been added during the previous step.Be sure to record your Secret Key in a secure location, as this key will be permanently hidden once the page is refreshed (Bitstamp warns it is only available for "a few minutes", however testing suggested this would remain on-screen as long as the screen was kept open).Once recorded, press "Activate API Key"
